Stephen Robert Hays, MD, MS, FAAPA native of upstate New York, I earned my undergraduate and graduate degrees at Yale and my medical degree at Hopkins before joining the faculty at Vanderbilt. After 20 years in Nashville, I came to Iowa City to help develop pediatric pain services at University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. Clinically I work as a pediatric anesthesiologist, as a pediatric pain specialist, and as a pediatric hospice and palliative medicine provider. My clinical research interests have included pediatric licensing studies of analgesic agents in children, as well as multi-institutional studies of potential pediatric anesthetic neurotoxicity.
