The Allergy and Immunology Clinic evaluates and manages children and adolescents with the following problems:


  • Asthma management and education
  • Hay fever
  • Nasal and sinus problems
  • Eczema
  • Recurrent hives
  • Food allergy
  • Stinging insect allergy


  • Recurrent infections
  • Family history of immune system problems
  • Known or suspected primary immune deficiency
  • Genetic disorder with associated immune problems

    Kalea Butterfield portrait Kaelea has severe, life-threatening asthma and in 2010, she was flown by air ambulance from Cedar Rapids to University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital with a serious asthma attack.
