Lungs and Breathing

The  Pulmonology Clinic evaluates and manages children and adolescents with the following problems:

  • Asthma management and education
  • Chronic cough
  • Nasal and sinus problems
  • Recurrent bronchitis and pneumonia
  • Exercise-induced shortness of breath
  • Cystic fibrosis

The University of Iowa Cystic Fibrosis Center is certified as a care, education and resource center by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The center provides patient care, educates physicians, and serves as a resource for furthering the knowledge of cystic fibrosis.

Our diagnostic services include:

  • Assessment of pulmonary physiology
  • Fiberoptic bronchoscopy
  • Allergy testing
  • Exercise physiology testing
